Take a Kid Fishing Weekend

Splash around with these opportunities on JUNE 6. Minnesota residents fish free with a youngster younger than 16. Free seminars will be offered at a limited number of piers. You don't have a kid of your own anymore you say, borrow one or two from your neighbors. I'm sure they would be happy to loan you a couple for the day. Pack lots of snacks, kids have an appetite.

FiN Program: Check out the Fishing in the Neighborhood Program on the DNR web site for up-to-date ongoing information on shore fishing opportunities across the metro area at:

Lady Shooter

A picture of a young woman from days gone by. How well dressed for an afternoon of target practice. What might the value be on the rifle in todays market?

kid and fishing

The fishing opener has come and gone. Now it is time for you to take the little ones out. Its easy to make use of the many docks when they have a short attention span. Part of learning is how to tie on hooks and bait. This is the future of fishing. The first time I got to take my great grandson out, we didn't catch any fish, but he was able to name all twenty-seven minnows in the minnow bucket.

Grass Burning

A couple of weeks ago, the Board of Trustees decided to have the grass on the berms burned off because there had become a lot of dead grass. The Babbitt Fire Department was out the next evening. Already, green grass is shooting up. The Club wishes to thank the Fire Dept for a fast and great job on the controlled burn.
Incendiary ammo is currently banned from use on the range.
